Notifications

How Page Lemon tells you things: messages about your account, which always come, and messages from your sites, which you choose for yourself, for all your sites or one at a time. Your site emails are limited to a number a day, and what doesn't fit comes in one summary the next morning.

What your AI will ask you

  • Which messages you want by email: form replies, bookings (and orders, when your site sells), and site alerts (a site down and back up, or far fewer visitors than usual).
  • How you want them: as they come (one email each), once a day (one summary each morning), or off (no email; everything still waits in the app).
  • For all your sites, or just one.
  • On every paid plan, who else should get them: the email address of each person, and which kinds.

What to have ready

  • Nothing for choosing how emails reach you.
  • For another person to get them: their email address. They get one email to confirm, and nothing else until they click it.
  • Add notify@pagelemon.net (emails from your sites) and hello@pagelemon.com (messages from Page Lemon) to your contacts, so they don't land in spam.

What happens

  1. Your AI tells you what it is about to change in plain words, then changes it: for all your sites, or only the one you named. It changes your own settings, never anyone else's. It is done at once, and you can ask again to change it back.
  2. It reads the new setting back to you: for example "form replies once a day, bookings one by one".
  3. To see it work, send yourself one real message: fill in your own form, or book a time. Test replies from your AI never send email. With as they come you get one email from your site; with once a day it's in the next morning's summary. Your AI tells you which to expect.
  4. Everything also waits in the app: open the site → Lists, under Form replies and bookings. Off means no email and no badge, not no record.

From Page Lemon, and from your sites

From Page Lemon (from hello@pagelemon.com) is about you and your account. You can't turn these off while you have an account, because they keep it safe and working. They come in the app and by email:

  • Account and security: an AI app connected or turned off, a data export, a deleted account.
  • Billing and plan: your contract, renewals, trials, failed payments, refunds and plan limits.
  • Access and ownership: invites, people joining or leaving, handing a site over, workspace changes.
  • Trust and safety: a site suspended and appeals, reports about a site, and site email that we paused.
  • Changes to our Terms and Privacy Policy.
  • Your domains: live, needs a step from you, or stopped working. You can turn off the "live" email and the reminder; if a domain stops working, we always email you.

Product news (new features and tips) comes only if you say yes: tick the box when you sign up, or later in Your settings → Email and alerts. Every one has a link to stop with one click.

From your sites (from notify@pagelemon.net) is what your sites produce: new form replies, bookings and orders, a morning summary, and a weekly report. These are yours to switch in the app, under Your settings → Email and alerts, one page for your own sites and every workspace you're in:

  • Your defaults: as they come, once a day or off for form replies, bookings and orders; as they come or off for site alerts. They apply to your own sites and every workspace.
  • In the app: untick it to leave a kind out of your Notifications count. The site's Lists tab still keeps everything.
  • The morning summary and the weekly report: one email each for everything, grouped by workspace, never one per workspace.
  • By workspace: each workspace (and your personal sites) says Same as above or Custom. Choose Change to set it differently, or one site in it.
  • A switch for each form, booking page and shop on your personal sites.
  • Who gets a workspace's emails (its extra inboxes, its forms' switches, what someone new starts with): the workspace's Emails page, for its Owner and Admins.

Some things always come: a booking for the next 24 hours is emailed at once, and a form that keeps no copy of its replies always emails you, because the email is the only copy.

Past the daily number, the rest come together in one summary email the next morning, and nothing is lost. Without extra inboxes, emails go to your own address only.

When an address stops getting emails

If emails to one of your addresses bounce, or it marks one of ours as spam, we stop sending there and show it under Addresses we stopped emailing in Your settings → Email and alerts. Choose Send there again: we email a code to that address, and typing it back starts the emails again. After a spam report you also tick that you want them, and this works once a year.

In a workspace

Everyone sets their own. The Workspace Owner gets site emails as they come; everyone else gets them in the app only, unless they turn email on. The Site Owner of a workspace site gets that site's emails as they come. Across the workspace, form replies, bookings and orders go to the Workspace Owner and Workspace Admins; Workspace Developers and people in groups get site alerts. The Workspace Owner can set what new people start with, and apply it once to everyone already in the workspace.

Site down and back up

Page Lemon checks each of your sites every few minutes. If its address doesn't open twice in a row, you get an email and a notice saying it's down, and another when it's back up. If you changed the site just before, roll back to the version before. A custom domain that stops working has its own email. In Minimal mode (below), a Free site's down and back-up alerts show in the app only; sites on a paid plan still get the emails.

Fewer visitors than usual

On paid plans, Page Lemon compares each site's visitors in the last 7 days with its usual week (the 4 weeks before). If a site that normally gets at least 20 visitors a day drops to half its usual or less, and is still low over the last 3 days, you get one email and a notice: how many visitors it had, how many it usually gets, and what to check (that the site opens and looks right, a recent change, where visitors came from, your own domain). You get it at most once a week for a site, and it is part of site alerts, so you can turn it off with them.

Site emails a day

The number counts the alerts your sites send you, copies to your other inboxes, forms that only email you, "thank you" emails a form sends to visitors, and the weekly report. It doesn't count what your visitors and customers must get: booking confirmations, changes, cancellations and reminders, and order receipts and refunds always go. Messages from Page Lemon are never counted.

Minimal mode

Page Lemon starts in Minimal mode: fewer optional emails. The weekly report isn't emailed, a Free site's down and back-up alerts and a few other optional notices show in the app only. Everything about your money, safety, access and domains is emailed in every mode.
