Help me get found on Google and in AI answersFor a local business, add what you do and where:

Make my site show up when people search for a hairdresser in LeedsWhat your AI will ask you
- What you do, in the words your customers would type, and the town or area you serve.
- Your business name, address, phone number and opening hours, written exactly as you want them everywhere.
- The questions customers ask you most, with your answers.
- Your listings and social profiles (Google, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp), so the site can point to them.
What to have ready
- Your business details: name, address, phone and hours, written the same way you'll use them everywhere else (your Google Business Profile, invoices or shop sign have them).
- A few good photos of your work, your place or your products.
- Your common questions, such as prices, parking, how to book or how long a job takes.
- A Google account for your Business Profile and Search Console. Nothing to install.
What happens
- Your AI looks at every page: a clear title and description, one main heading, a page for each service, your business details and a description for each photo.
- It shows you what it will change and what it needs from you, such as your hours or a missing photo. It publishes after your yes.
- It offers a test: it checks your pages again and tells you what's done, anything Page Lemon still flags, and the date your site can appear on Google.
- It gives you the next steps only you can do: your Google Business Profile, your other listings, reviews, and Search Console.
Can people find my site yet?
Open the site in the Page Lemon app → Get found. The top line says yes, or why not yet.
- On a paid plan, or with your own domain: your site can be found as soon as it's kept in your account.
- On Free, or a trial without a card: a new site is hidden from search for its first 7 days, so we can stop scam sites. Get found shows the date. To be found straight away, upgrade, add a card to your trial, or connect your own domain.
- Not kept yet: a site published without an account stays hidden until you keep it.
- Never listed: a site with a passcode or invite-only, an archived or paused site, locked pages, and a home page your AI marked "don't list" (ask your AI to remove that).
- Be patient. After that, a new site usually takes a few weeks to show up, and longer to climb. Nobody can make Google hurry.
The Get found tab
Open the site in the Page Lemon app → Get found. Under the top line (above) you'll find:
- Help people find you: a checklist of Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Google Search Console and sharing your review link. Tick each one when it's done. On paid plans, the weekly report reminds you of the next one once your site can be found.
- Your main address, which of your domains is the main one, the Send visitors on other addresses to the main domain switch (see below), and what Page Lemon does for you automatically.
- AI tools: the two switches (below).
- Things to fix on your pages, each with a Copy a prompt for my AI button: paste the prompt into your chat.
- Track a link: builds tagged links for your Instagram bio, a Facebook post, an email newsletter or a flyer or QR code (see Track your links).
The Site Owner changes the settings and ticks; Site Developers can see them.
1. Your Google Business Profile
For a local business, this is the biggest win. It's what puts you on Google Maps and in the local results, and Google's AI answers lean on it heavily. It's free.
- Go to google.com/business and sign in with your Google account.
- Add your business name, category, address (or the area you serve), phone and hours.
- Add your website: copy the tagged link from Get found → Help people find you → Google Business Profile (your main address ending in
?utm_source=google-business&utm_medium=profile). Visits from Google Maps then show as Google Business Profile in your Visitors. - Verify the business. Google tells you how: often a phone call, a text, an email or a short video.
- Add photos and a short description, and keep your hours up to date, holidays included.
Use exactly the same name, address and phone number on your Business Profile, your site and every listing. Ask your AI to check that your site matches.
2. Your other listings
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Apple and Microsoft build their answers from maps and directories too. Add your business to:
- Bing Places (bingplaces.com): choose to import from your Google Business Profile, and it's done in a few clicks. Bing feeds Microsoft Copilot.
- Apple Business Connect (businessconnect.apple.com): Apple Maps and Siri.
- One or two directories people use for your kind of business, such as Yelp, Facebook, Tripadvisor, a trade association or your local chamber of commerce.
Same name, address and phone every time, with a link to your site. Links from local sites help too, such as a supplier, a local paper or an event you sponsor.
3. Reviews
Reviews are one of the strongest signals, for maps and for AI answers.
- In your Business Profile, open Ask for reviews and copy your review link. Paste it into Get found too, so your AI can use it.
- Send it to happy customers after a job, a visit or an order. Ask your AI to add a "Leave us a review" link to your site's thank-you message after a booking or a message.
- Reply to every review, good or bad.
Never write reviews yourself or pay for them: Google removes them and can suspend your profile.
4. Your pages
Page Lemon looks after the technical part. What's on your pages is up to you and your AI. Most of these also make your site easier for people using screen readers, so they help people and search engines at once. Copy any of these into your chat.
One page for each service, and the place you work. A page for each main thing you offer (say, "Men's haircuts", "Colouring", "Bridal hair") gives Google a page to show for each search.

Show up in AI answers
ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews answer questions by reading maps, directories, reviews and websites. They pick businesses whose facts are clear and the same everywhere:
- Plain facts with numbers: what you do, where, your prices, hours and how to book ("from £35", "open until 8pm on Thursdays").
- Questions with short answers: the answer first, then the detail.
- The same details everywhere: your name, address and phone the same on your site, your Business Profile and your listings.
AI tools and your site
Get found has two switches under AI tools. Both are on at first, which means allowed.
- Let AI companies learn from this site: whether AI companies may use your pages to train their AI. Turning it off doesn't stop AI apps from finding and mentioning you.
- Show this site in AI answers: whether ChatGPT search, Claude, Perplexity and other assistants may read your site to answer questions. Turning it off makes them much less likely to mention or link to you. Google and Bing search results keep working, and so do Google's AI Overviews, which follow Google search.
These switches ask the AI companies' robots to stay away. The big companies follow the request, but it's a request, not a lock. If your AI wrote its own robots.txt file (the rules for robots), the switches don't change it: ask your AI to add the rules instead.

Stop AI companies from training on my site, but keep me in AI answersYour pagelemon.dev address or your own domain?
Both work, and search engines can find either. Once your own domain is connected and live, it becomes the main address: search engines show your domain, and the pagelemon.dev copy points to it, so you never compete with yourself. Your own domain looks more trustworthy to customers, stays yours if you ever move your site, and builds your name in search over time. See Your own domain.
- Visitors on the old address aren't moved unless you ask. Both addresses keep working, so old links and shared posts still open. To send everyone to your domain, turn on Send visitors on other addresses to the main domain in Get found, or ask your AI. It's off at first because, if your domain ever stopped working, visitors to your
pagelemon.devaddress would be sent to a broken page too. - Two versions of your domain (with and without
www)? The first one you connected is the main one. You can pick the other under Main domain in Get found, or ask your AI.
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools
These free tools show what people searched for before they found you, and warn you about problems.
- Go to search.google.com/search-console and add your site. Choose URL prefix and enter your site's main address (your own domain if it's live).
- Pick the HTML file way to prove the site is yours. Download the file and give it to your AI, or copy its name:
Copy into your AI chat
Add this Google Search Console file to my site: [paste the file name here]- When your AI says it's published, press Verify.
- Open Sitemaps, type
sitemap.xmland press Submit. - For Bing, go to bing.com/webmasters and choose Import from Google Search Console. It brings your site and sitemap across in one step, with nothing more to verify.
See how it's going
- Visitors tab: open the site → Visitors → Sources. Search engines show as
google.comorbing.com; AI apps aschatgpt.com,perplexity.ai,claude.aiorgemini.google.com. Paid plans. See Visits and analytics. - Google Search Console shows the searches you appeared in and how often people clicked.
- Your Business Profile shows calls, direction requests and website clicks from Maps.
Track your links
Add a short tag to the end of the links you share, and you'll see which ones bring visitors and customers.
The Track a link helper in Get found builds these for you, ready to copy (it won't take an email address or a phone number). Or ask your AI:
Copy into your AI chat
Make me tagged links for my Instagram bio, my newsletter and a QR code for my flyerIf you make them yourself:
How it looks. Your address, then a question mark and the tags:
https://yourname.pagelemon.dev/?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bioutm_source: where the link is, such asinstagram,newsletterorflyer.utm_medium: what kind of link, such asbio,email,qrorpost.utm_campaign(optional): what it's for, such assummer-saleoropening-week.
Keep it simple. Lower case, a dash instead of spaces, and the same words every time: always instagram, never Instagram one week and ig the next.
Where to use them:
- Instagram or TikTok bio:
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=bio - Google Business Profile website link:
?utm_source=google-business&utm_medium=profile, to tell Maps visitors apart. - Newsletter:
?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=october - Flyers and posters: make a QR code from
?utm_source=flyer&utm_medium=qr, so you can tell who scanned it.
Where you see the results:
- The Visitors tab shows each tag's source under Sources.
- On higher plans, the weekly report email shows your sources and how many form replies and bookings each one brought.
- On paid plans, each message, booking and order shows the page it came from and, unless the visitor opted out of tracking, its tags, so you know which link brought that customer.
Never put a name, email address or phone number in a tag, and don't make a different link for each person. Tags are for places (your bio, your flyer), not people, and anyone who clicks the link can see them.
What we don't do
- No guaranteed rankings. Nobody can promise a place on Google or in AI answers, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
- No paid search services. Page Lemon doesn't sell ads, link building or SEO packages, and doesn't add you to directories for you, so you keep control of your own listings. The listings, reviews and Search Console steps on this page are free.
- No made-up details. Your AI writes your pages from your real facts. It never invents reviews, prices or addresses.
The technical details
For the curious. You don't need to do anything here.
- One main address. Your site's main address is your own domain once it's live, otherwise your
pagelemon.devaddress. Your site's other addresses tell search engines to list the main one instead (its "canonical" address), and Page Lemon corrects any address in your pages that points to one of your other addresses. - Files for robots. If your site doesn't have its own, Page Lemon answers with a
robots.txt(the rules for robots), asitemap.xml(the list of your pages, which Google uses to notice changes) and anllms.txt(a list of your pages that some AI tools read). If your AI writes its own, Page Lemon uses yours. Thellms.txtisn't made while Show this site in AI answers is off. - Changes announced. Once your site can be found, after each publish Page Lemon tells Bing and the other search engines that use IndexNow which pages changed, usually within 10 minutes.
- Tips after each publish. Page Lemon tells your AI what could hold your pages back, such as a missing title or description. It never stops a publish.
If your site still isn't showing up after a few weeks, see Fix a problem.
