Payments and paid memberships
Take money on your site with your own Stripe account: payment buttons, a small shop with Checkout, and paid memberships in your app. Customers pay on Stripe's own page, and the money goes to your Stripe account.

Add a Buy button to my site on PageLemon.com for my mugs, £18 eachWhat your AI will ask you
- What you sell: names, prices, photos, sizes or colours, how many you have and where you post to.
- For a paid membership: the plans, their prices and what each one opens in your app.
- Whether you already have Stripe Payment Links you'd like to use.
What to have ready
- A Stripe account, or a few minutes to make one. Payment buttons need only your own Payment Links. For Checkout and paid memberships, you press Connect payouts in the Dashboard (on Plan & billing) and fill in your details on Stripe's own pages. Bank and identity details never go in the chat.
- In a workspace, Checkout and paid memberships will sell into the workspace's own Stripe account. Only the Workspace Owner presses Connect payouts on the workspace's page; everyone else in the workspace sees whether it's connected there.
What happens
- Your AI asks what you sell and helps you pick a way to take money (below).
- Before anything is saved, it shows you the whole setup: every button or product with its price, stock, sizes and shipping. Check it and say yes, or say what to change.
- For Checkout or paid memberships, you press Connect payouts once in the Dashboard and finish Stripe's own pages. Until then the buttons show, but nobody can pay yet.
- Your AI adds the buttons to your page, in your site's design, and publishes the site.
- It offers a test: it opens a button on the live page and tells you whether it reached Stripe's checkout page. You don't need to buy anything.
Three ways to take money
- Payment buttons: buttons that open your own Stripe Payment Links. No Page Lemon fee.
- Page Lemon Checkout: a small shop with stock that counts down, shipping, order emails, an orders list and refunds you approve in the Dashboard.
- Paid memberships: users pay a monthly or yearly plan to open your app. Renewals, failed payments and cancellations open and close their access by themselves.
With Checkout on your site, your booking page can also take a deposit or the full price when someone books.
Why is there a Page Lemon fee when Stripe already charges one?
Stripe's fee pays for moving the money. Ours pays for what Page Lemon runs around it: the hosted Checkout, subscriptions tied to your users' sign-in, a grace window when a card fails and nightly checks with Stripe, the UK-buyer checks, receipts, and your AI setting it all up. No sale, no fee, and a refund gives our fee back (Stripe keeps its own).
A subscription you made by hand in your own Stripe account and link to a user in the Dashboard pays the same fee on its paid invoices from when you link it. A free invoice, such as a 100%-off coupon or a trial, carries no fee.
Sell with another checkout
Yes, you can sell with Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle or Gumroad on your Page Lemon site: ask your AI to add their buy button or checkout link to your page.
- They are the seller, not you: as merchant of record, they handle VAT and sales tax on each sale and pay you out. Check their terms for the countries and products they cover.
- No Page Lemon fee on those sales. The buyer pays on their page, and they send the receipt and deliver any files.
- Your app's paid memberships stay on Stripe: a sale there doesn't open a membership in your app by itself. To give a buyer access, invite them to a free or invite-only plan, and remove them when they stop paying.
- If your site has its own security policy, your AI adds their addresses to it. See Use your other tools.
Can I take payments without Stripe?
Paid membership plans run on your own Stripe account, so renewals, failed payments and cancellations open and close access automatically. Page Lemon doesn't process other payment methods. You can always invite people to a free or invite-only plan; money you collect another way is yours to track, including removing someone's access when they stop paying.
Who handles refunds, VAT and customer questions?
You do: you're the seller. Refunds come from your Stripe account. For a Payment Link sale you refund it in Stripe; for a Checkout sale you press Refund in the Dashboard yourself. Your AI can prepare one, but money only moves when you approve it.
Your orders, day to day
- Orders: open the site's Shop in the Dashboard, then Orders. Each order shows what was bought, the buyer's email and, for things sent by post, where to send it.
- Sent it? Press Mark sent, with a tracking note if you like. The buyer gets an email.
- Can't fill an order? Press Refuse: the buyer gets a full refund and an email with your reason.
- Stock and prices: tell your AI ("We have 6 blue mugs left", "Mark the serving bowl sold out"). Sales in progress are never undone.
- Ask your AI: "How many orders this month?" or "How many blue mugs are left?"
What Page Lemon keeps about your buyers
For each Checkout order: the buyer's email and, for things sent by post, their name, delivery address and phone number (Stripe collects them at checkout), what they bought, the amount, and the payment and refund status. Card details go to Stripe, never to us. Orders are kept while your shop exists, and deleted 30 days after you remove the shop or the site. Stripe is listed on our Subprocessors page. Payment buttons record nothing here: Stripe keeps those orders.
