In short
- Page Lemon publishes with no account. You keep the link, connect once, then any AI keeps editing the site.
- On a paid ChatGPT plan you can connect Page Lemon once (about 2 minutes). Then ChatGPT publishes and changes the site when you ask.
- On the free plan, copy the code ChatGPT made and paste it on pagelemon.com/publish. No account needed.
- ChatGPT also has its own Sites feature on some plans. It is a good fit if you're happy for the site to live inside ChatGPT.
Publish, keep, connect, edit
This is the whole path. It works from any AI.
- Publish. Ask your AI to launch the site. No account needed. You get a live link in seconds. It stays up for 72 hours.
- Keep it. Your AI also gives you a keep link. Open it, sign in and press Keep. The address stays the same.
- Connect once. In ChatGPT, add Page Lemon as a plugin (route 1). Using a coding tool? Tick Connect my AI when you keep the site.
- Keep editing. Ask any connected AI for a change, in any chat. It updates the same address.
Which way suits you
| Your situation | Easiest route |
|---|---|
| Paid ChatGPT plan, on the web | Connect Page Lemon once, then ask ChatGPT to publish |
| Free ChatGPT plan, or on a phone | Download the file and drop it, or paste the code |
| You want the site to stay in ChatGPT | ChatGPT Sites, if your plan has it |
| Many files, images, a .zip | Ask for a .zip, then drop it or let a connected ChatGPT publish it |
First, get the site out of the chat
ChatGPT usually shows your page as code, or in a canvas next to the chat where you can preview it. Either way, ask for something you can publish:
- Give me this website as one index.html file with the CSS and JavaScript inside, as a download.
Open the file on your computer before you publish it. Scroll the whole page and make the window narrow to see the phone view. If something is wrong, say so in the chat and ask for the file again.
If the page was built in React or another framework, ask ChatGPT to turn it into a plain page that runs on its own. A page that only works inside the canvas preview may show a blank screen elsewhere.
- Rewrite this as a standalone index.html that works when I open it in a browser, with no build step.
Route 1: connect ChatGPT once
This is the route to choose if you'll want changes later. ChatGPT gets a tool it can use to publish, so it puts the site online itself and replies with the link. Next week, in a new chat, it can read the live site and change it at the same address.
What you need: a paid ChatGPT plan, on ChatGPT on the web. OpenAI calls these add-ons plugins (they were called connectors, then apps, so older guides use those words). Adding your own may mean turning on Developer mode in ChatGPT's settings first. On Business and Enterprise plans an admin may have to allow it. OpenAI changes which plans get which options, so check its help pages if a step is missing.
- Open the plugin settings. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins and choose Add. If ChatGPT asks, turn on Developer mode in Settings.
- Create a custom plugin. Name it Page Lemon and paste
https://mcp.pagelemon.com/mcpas the link. - Choose OAuth and sign in. Confirm that you trust it. A Page Lemon page opens: sign in with Google or your email, check what ChatGPT may do and click Allow.
- Turn it on in a chat. Start a new chat, turn on the Page Lemon plugin, and paste the prompt below.
- Deploy on PageLemon.com
ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it publishes or changes anything. Choose Confirm. The full steps, with fixes, are in Connect your AI.
Route 2: drop the file, no account
This works on every ChatGPT plan, the free one included, and on a phone.
- Get the file. Download the
index.htmlChatGPT made. On a phone with no file, copy all the code instead. It usually starts with<!DOCTYPE html>. - Open pagelemon.com/publish. Tap Paste and publish, or drop the file.
- Share the link. You get an address like
brave-otter-4821.pagelemon.devin seconds, and a keep link. - Keep it. Without an account the site stays online for 72 hours. Open the keep link and sign in, and it stays.
One limit to know: dropping a new file makes a new address. To change the same site later, connect an AI (route 1).
Many files or images
If your site has several pages or its own images, ask for a .zip:
- Put the whole site in a .zip with index.html at the top level and lowercase file names.
Drop the .zip on pagelemon.com/publish (up to 1 MB with no account), or ask a connected ChatGPT to publish it. Photos you took yourself are easier to add after the site is live: a connected ChatGPT gives you an upload link for them.
Route 3: keep it inside ChatGPT (Sites)
OpenAI has a feature called ChatGPT Sites. You build a site in ChatGPT and publish it from there to a link that ChatGPT hosts. According to OpenAI's help centre, it was in public beta in October 2026 for Plus and Pro accounts and for ChatGPT workspaces, rolling out in stages, and workspace admins decide who may publish.
It suits you if you build and change the site only in ChatGPT, and the address and options it offers are enough. Think about how you'll edit the site if you later use a different AI, how you'd move it, and whether you can use your own domain on your plan. OpenAI's help article on Sites has the current rules.
Your own domain
A link like yourname.pagelemon.dev is fine to start. An address like www.yourcafe.com looks better on a card or a menu. On Page Lemon, your own domain comes with paid plans (see pricing). You buy the domain from a domain company and renew it with them each year. With ChatGPT connected, you can ask:
- Connect www.yourcafe.com to my site
The steps, in plain words: put your AI-made site on your own domain.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "I can't access the internet" or "I can't publish websites" | That's true until a publishing tool is connected. Connect Page Lemon (route 1), turn it on in a new chat and ask again. Or drop the file (route 2). |
| You can't find Plugins or Developer mode | Your plan may not include custom plugins, or an admin controls them. Use route 2, or ask your admin. |
| ChatGPT doesn't mention Page Lemon | Turn the plugin on in the chat, then start a new chat. |
| The live page is blank | It probably needs a build step or only ran in the canvas preview. Ask for a standalone index.html (prompt above). |
| Images are missing | The file points at images that aren't in the upload. See fix broken images. |
| The contact form does nothing | A plain page can't send email. See a contact form that actually sends. |
Questions
Can ChatGPT host my website itself?
On some plans, yes, with ChatGPT Sites. Otherwise ChatGPT writes the site and you publish it elsewhere, either through a connected tool or by uploading the file.
Do I need a paid ChatGPT plan?
Not to get online: on the free plan, download the file and drop it. To have ChatGPT publish and edit the site for you, you need a plan that lets you add a custom plugin.
Is it free?
Publishing on Page Lemon is free. Without an account a site stays up for 72 hours. A free account keeps a few sites, with a small Page Lemon badge. Your own domain and forms come with paid plans. See pricing.
Can I change the site later?
Yes. Keep the site and connect ChatGPT, or any other AI. Ask for the change in any chat and it updates the same address. Every change is saved as a version you can go back to.
Is my ChatGPT chat shared?
No. Only the files of the site are published. Everything you publish is public unless you add a passcode, so don't put private notes or keys in the page.
