How to publish a website you made in Gemini Canvas

Gemini built a page for you in Canvas. Its share link is one way to show it. If you want a site with its own address, that you can protect and keep changing, here is how to move it out of Gemini.

In short

  • Gemini's Share link shows your canvas on a Google address. It has no passcode and no domain of your own.
  • To publish it yourself, copy the code and paste it on pagelemon.com/publish.
  • If your canvas calls Gemini while it runs, it won't work the same on a normal website. Never put an API key in the page.
  • Antigravity, Google's coding tool, can connect to Page Lemon and publish for you.

In the Gemini app you can share a canvas with a public link. Anyone with the link can open it. You can see and delete your links later under Settings & help → Your public links. On work and school accounts, an admin decides whether you can share links at all.

The link is a quick way to show a draft. It lives on Google's address, can't be locked with a passcode, and you change it by going back to Gemini. If you want your own address, a private preview for a client, or a contact form, move the page out.

Get the code out of Canvas

  1. Open the code view. In Canvas, switch from the preview to the code. Copy all of it.
  2. Or ask for a file. If the page is in React or has several parts, ask for one file that runs on its own:
  • Give me this as one standalone index.html with the CSS and JavaScript inside. It must work when I open it in a browser, with no build step and no API key.

Save it as index.html and double-click it to check it works. Here is how, step by step.

Pages that call Gemini: the API key trap

Canvas can build small apps that ask Gemini something each time someone uses them, like a recipe generator. Inside the Gemini app this works without any setup. Moved to a normal website, the page has no Gemini behind it. You may be told to "just add your API key" to the code.

Put it online

  1. Open pagelemon.com/publish. Tap Paste and publish, or drop the index.html.
  2. Share the link. You get an address like brave-otter-4821.pagelemon.dev straight away.
  3. Keep it. Without an account it stays online for 72 hours. Press Keep it free and sign in with Google or your email, and it stays.

Dropping a new file later makes a new address. If you'll change the site often, an AI that can connect to Page Lemon is easier: it updates the same address when you ask. Claude, ChatGPT on paid plans, Antigravity and other tools can. See Connect your AI.

Can the Gemini app publish for me?

Not on its own. In 2026 Google started letting some Gemini accounts add custom apps from an MCP link (the open standard Page Lemon uses). When we checked in October 2026, Google's help page said this was limited to certain accounts and features, in English. Our setup steps don't cover the Gemini app yet, so for now use the drop page.

If you use Antigravity, Google's coding tool, it connects with one settings block and publishes for you. See Connect a coding tool.

Your own domain

Once the site is on Page Lemon and kept, you can put it on an address like www.yourname.com. Your own domain comes with paid plans (see pricing). You buy the domain from a domain company. Steps in plain words: put your AI-made site on your own domain.

Questions

Can I password-protect a Gemini Canvas page?

Not through Gemini's share link. Publish the page as a website, then add a passcode. On Page Lemon a passcode works on every plan, Free included, once the site is kept. See make your AI-made website private.

My page is blank after publishing. Why?

It probably relied on something the Canvas preview supplies, like React or a Gemini call. Ask for a standalone index.html with no build step, using the prompt above.

Does it cost anything?

Publishing is free. A free Page Lemon account keeps a few sites, with a small badge. Paid plans add your own domain, forms and more. See pricing.

Can I delete my Gemini share link afterwards?

Yes, from Your public links in Gemini's settings. Your published site is separate and stays online.
