How to publish a Claude artifact as a real website

Claude built you a page. Page Lemon puts it on a real link with no account, then lets any AI keep editing it. Here is the path, and how it differs from Claude's Publish button.

In short

  • Claude's Publish button gives a link on Claude's own domain. Good for a quick demo.
  • Page Lemon publishes with no account, then you keep the link and connect once.
  • After that, Claude or any other AI keeps editing the same site. Connecting works on every Claude plan, Free included.
  • Artifacts are often React. Ask Claude for one standalone index.html before you publish it anywhere else.
  • An artifact that calls Claude while it runs won't work the same way outside Claude.

What Claude's Publish link is, and isn't

Every artifact has a Publish (or Share) option. According to Anthropic's help centre (checked October 2026):

  • On Free, Pro and Max plans, a published artifact gets a public link. Anyone with the link can open it.
  • On Team and Enterprise plans, sharing is inside your organisation by default. Public links stay off until an owner turns them on.
  • Artifacts that use Claude or your connected apps can't always be opened by "anyone with the link".

So the Publish link is a good way to show someone what you made. It is not a website with your own address. You change it by going back to that chat. If the link doesn't open for someone, check your plan's sharing settings first.

Turn the artifact into one HTML file

Many artifacts are React components. They run inside Claude's preview, which supplies React for them. Outside Claude, the same code can show a blank page. Ask for a file that runs on its own:

  • Turn this artifact into one standalone index.html with the CSS and JavaScript inside. It must work when I open the file in a browser, with no build step.

Download it and double-click it. If it looks right on your computer, it will look right online. If it was already a plain HTML artifact, you can skip this.

Publish, keep, connect, edit

This is the whole path. It works from any AI.

  1. Publish. Ask your AI to launch the site. No account needed. You get a live link in seconds. It stays up for 72 hours.
  2. Keep it. Your AI also gives you a keep link. Open it, sign in and press Keep. The address stays the same.
  3. Connect once. In Claude, add Page Lemon as a connector (below). Using a coding tool? Tick Connect my AI when you keep the site.
  4. Keep editing. Ask any connected AI for a change, in any chat. It updates the same address.

Connect Claude once

Claude can't publish to the web from its sandbox on its own. Once you add Page Lemon as a custom connector, it can publish the site, reply with the link, and change it later from any chat. Anthropic allows custom connectors on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

  1. Add the connector. In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app), open Settings → Connectors and click Add custom connector. Name it Page Lemon and paste https://mcp.pagelemon.com/mcp.
  2. Sign in. Click Connect. A Page Lemon page opens: sign in with Google or your email, check what Claude may do, and click Allow. A site you already published and kept is yours in Claude too.
  3. Turn it on. In a chat, open the tools menu and check Page Lemon is on.
  4. Ask. In the chat with your artifact, paste the prompt below.
  • Deploy on PageLemon.com

On Team and Enterprise plans, an organisation owner may need to add the connector first. Full steps and fixes: Connect your AI.

No connector yet? Drop the file

Copy the artifact’s code and paste it on pagelemon.com/publish, or drop the downloaded index.html there. You get a live link and a keep link, with no account. The site stays up for 72 hours unless you keep it. To change it later, connect Claude (above). Dropping a new file makes a new address.

Share it only with some people

Made a draft for a client, or something for your class? On Page Lemon you can put a passcode on the whole site on every plan once you've kept it, Free included. Invite-only by email comes with paid plans. Ask in the chat:

  • Protect this site with a passcode

Claude gives you a private link where you type the passcode yourself, so it never goes through the chat. More in make your AI-made website private.

Questions

Why does my artifact link not work for other people?

On Team and Enterprise plans, artifacts are shared inside your organisation unless an owner allows public links. Artifacts that use Claude or connected apps may also need the viewer to sign in. Publishing the page as a normal website avoids both.

Can I use my own domain with a Claude artifact?

Not with Claude's Publish link. Publish the page as a website, then connect a domain. On Page Lemon that comes with paid plans. See put your site on your own domain.

Will my chat be public?

No. Only the site's files are published, not your conversation.

Can I edit the site later in a new chat?

Yes, once you have kept the site and connected Claude. Ask "Change the opening hours on my café site" in any chat, or in another AI. It reads the live site, changes it and publishes a new version at the same address. You can go back to an earlier version at any time within your plan's history.

Have an artifact? Get a link.

Paste Deploy on PageLemon.com into the chat where you made it. You get a live link and a keep link.

No publishing tools in your AI? Connect your AI once, then ask again, or drop the file or paste the code with no setup.
