Where it went

£1.09m in.
£1.03m out.

Most of what came in was restricted to a named programme, so the surplus is small and we are cautious about it. Full accounts are on the financials page.

What did not work

Three things we got wrong, and what we changed.

  1. The Dunmoor mentoring pilot closed after eight months.

40% of young people referred by schools never came to a first session. We stopped the pilot and moved the sessions into school timetables.

  2. The community kitchen missed its target.

We aimed for 300 meals a week and served 210. Transport was the main barrier, so the second kitchen moved closer to the bus route.

  3. Our first grant round was too slow.

Groups waited an average of 11 weeks for a decision. The new round closes in six weeks and tells everyone who applied within 10 days.
