How a film gets made
One to three days on location with a crew of two or three. Yewande sends the shot list a week ahead, so the day runs to plan and nobody waits in the rain.
Mara edits from the rushes and sends a rough cut within ten working days. Two rounds of notes are included.
Colour and sound are finished in house. You get the masters, a 30-second cut for social, and captions in the formats you ask for.
They found the light on the opening morning and kept it for the whole film. By lunch we had stopped noticing the camera.
Behind the camera
Director and cinematographer. Yewande spent six years on regional news before starting Tern Street with one camera and a spare battery. She still shoots most films herself and lights the ones that need care.
Fourteen films and 41 shoot days since 2019.
