Projects

Three projects, all still moving

finished is a June word

Each project grows out of a few weeks of log entries. This page is the tidy version: what the brief asked, what I made and where it is now.

Projects are marked against the college’s four criteria: research, development, making and reflection. I mark the reflection myself first, then compare with my tutor’s mark.

What I learned / what I would change

What I learned

Landmarks beat street names for people who don’t live here.

What I would change

Recruit testers who have never visited, and test at the real stop in the rain.

What I learned / what I would change

What I learned

Past a metre, weight matters more than size.

What I would change

Test under the library’s evening lighting, and with someone who wears reading glasses.

A page a day, before the screen

Not a brief, a habit: one sketchbook page before I open a laptop. It is where every project on this site starts.

What I learned / what I would change

What I learned

Ideas on paper are cheaper to throw away, so I throw more away.

What I would change

Date every page. Half of September is undated and I can’t match it to the log.

More in the log

Every project starts as a Monday entry.
