Twenty-four helpers needed

Give a shift, get a cup of tea

Most jobs take two or three hours and come with a break. Pick the role that suits you. You do not need experience, only a willingness to lift a few tables.

On the day

Gate and tickets

Take money, hand out wristbands and point people to the tombola. Stand in the shade with a clipboard.

2 hours, 9:30am or 2pm start

Tea tent

Pour, slice and serve. The urn is already hot, and the cake rota is on the wall.

3 hours, 11am to 2pm or 2pm to 5pm

Set-up crew

Put up the marquee, chairs and bunting before anyone arrives. Hard work, good breakfast provided.

2 hours from 8am on the day

First aid point

Sit by the first-aid tent with the kit and a radio. A first-aid certificate is helpful but not required; we will ask you to show it.

3 hours, two people per shift

Before the day

Prize collection

Ask local shops and families for raffle prizes, then bring them to the hall. Work from home and drop off on Friday.

1 hour, most of it on the phone

Leaflets and posters

Put posters up in the shops, the surgery and the bus shelter, then check them again the week before.

1 hour a week through May

Under 16s can help on the tea tent or the kids' corner with an adult volunteer, and a signed consent form from a parent.
