· The Dipping House

Ines Adair&Tomas Vell

We are getting married by candlelight, in a room that used to make candles. Dinner at long tables, toasts that run over, and dancing until the last taper goes out.

The bar on Ferris Street, and the argument that followed

Ines ran the late bar at a bookshop on Ferris Street. Tomas came in every Thursday to argue that the cheap red was better than the dear one. She kept pouring him the cheap one out of spite, and he kept coming back for it.

Seven years later they still disagree about the wine and agree about nearly everything else.
