The order of the evening

Saturday 18 September 2027, from doors to the last taper. Times are the plan, not a promise: the candles are lit when the room is ready.

  1. Doors and lanterns

Guests come in through the yard gate. A welcome glass of elderflower sparkling, and the courtyard lanterns lit by the staff.

  2. Ceremony in the long room

About twenty-five minutes. Readings are kept to two minutes each, and the chairs face the arched windows.

  3. Drinks at the candle bar

The bar opens in the old drying room. Cocktails are named after the streets around the venue.

  4. Candles lit, then toasts

The room dims and forty tapers go up, one table at a time. Toasts from Tomas's sister and Ines's oldest friend follow.

  5. Dinner, served together

Four courses, served family-style at the long tables. Dietary needs go on the RSVP form and reach the kitchen by name.

  6. First dance, then the floor

The first dance, then the DJ and the four-piece band take turns until midnight. Requests are on the music page.

  7. Last taper and getting home

Last orders at the bar. A shuttle leaves for Burnside Moor station at midnight, and taxis wait at the yard gate.

Dinner is at 8:15 pm, family-style.

Dinner, and what to tell us

Choose a main on the RSVP form: beef short rib, hake with samphire, or a vegetarian or vegan plate. Tell us about allergies and dietary needs in your own words, not as a tick box.
