Garden formal, and sensible shoes
Dress code, gifts and questions.
Everything you need to plan the outfit, the gift list and the answers most often asked. If something is missing, ask us.
The dress code
Garden formal.
Think linen, cotton, silk and a light jacket for the evening. Pastels are welcome, but please leave pure white to the couple.
The lawn is soft, so flat or block-heeled shoes will keep you happier. Bring a wrap for when the sun drops behind the orchard.
Gifts
A small list, if you want one.
We have no need for more things, but if you would like to give something, our list is online. Gifts can also go to the hospice that cared for Hattie's grandmother.
Questions we get asked
Can I bring a plus-one?
Plus-ones are on your invitation if we have space for them. Tell us on your reply, with their name, so the place card is ready.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children are welcome at the ceremony and supper. We have a quiet room upstairs in the barn if they need a rest.
What if it rains?
The ceremony moves into the barn, and the garden drinks move under the big tent. Nothing else changes, and the shuttle keeps running.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
Please tell us about allergies and dietary needs on your reply. The kitchen team will confirm what they can safely serve.
