Attention is
a good start.

I’m Ellis Fenwick, a graduate product designer based in Orley Mere, UK. I like work that makes ordinary days easier to navigate.

A short introduction

From printed pages
to public things.

I started in communication design, arranging type and information on paper. Product design gave me a way to ask what happens before someone reaches the page, and what they need to do next.

My favourite projects sit in that space: booking a library book, choosing a bus fare, finding a local event. Nothing spectacular. Just things that deserve to work well.

What I
bring.

Care with the details

Readable type, clear labels and a structure that still makes sense without the presentation.

Room to change my mind

I keep notes on decisions and bring unfinished ideas to a conversation. Feedback is easier to use when the reasoning is visible.

A practical starting point

I’m comfortable with research notes, prototypes and basic HTML and CSS. I’m ready to learn from people who have shipped real products.

I live near Compositor Walk, Orley Mere. Outside design, I mend second-hand books, walk the Fenlow towpath and make fairly opinionated notes about bus-stop signage.
