Ch. III A note from the shop

Some places sell books. We like to think we keep them company.

We opened Vellum in an old dressmaker’s shop, with 800 books, two mismatched chairs and a very optimistic kettle.

Today there are a few more books. The chairs are still here. So is the belief that a good bookshop should send you home more curious than when you arrived.

We read what we sell. We remember what you loved. And we will always make room for a voice you haven’t heard before.
