Case study · Residential refit
Harbour Flat: sage walls, oak and a ten-week refit
A two-bedroom flat above the harbour office. The budget was tight and the owners wanted fewer things, not new things.
- Where
- Harbour Row, Halvergate
- How long
- Ten weeks on site
- What we did
- Colour, joinery repair, one sofa re-covered, new lighting
What we changed
- 1
Limewash, Sage SG-22
Lime-based paint on the sitting room walls. Two coats, no sheen, and it covers the patchy old plaster without a skim.
- 2
Oak sideboard, stripped
Kept from the old flat. Stripped back to the grain and finished with hard wax oil, which can be touched up in an afternoon.
- 3
Blush sofa, re-covered
Same frame, new wool-blend cover in Blush BL-09. Re-covering saved the owners about a third of the cost of a new sofa.
What happened when
- Weeks 1–2
Survey, samples and a fixed-fee quote signed off.
- Weeks 3–6
Joinery repair and lime plaster on the sitting room and hall.
- Weeks 7–10
Sofa re-cover, lighting, styling and a handover walk-round.
