Hadfield Tide Atlas
A tide-data site for a coastal trust. It tells walkers and harbour crews when the mud flats are safe to cross, hour by hour, on a phone.

The brief
Volunteers spent every summer weekend answering the same phone calls about tide times. The trust had a printed table that was out of date by March and a spreadsheet nobody else could read.
They wanted one page per crossing, a clear window, and a way to see the next seven days without zooming.
What I did
Turned the tide tables into a small data file, checked against the official gauge readings.
Drew each crossing as one wave chart. The safe window is the only red thing on screen.
Built the site as static pages with one script, so it loads on weak signal at the shore.
What changed
41%
Fewer calls to the trust office over the first season, measured against the same weeks the year before.
“The volunteers stopped ringing about tides. They just send people the link.”
