I draw the grid and write the code myself.

Juno Halvard started as a typesetter in a Saltmere press room, moved to screens in 2016, and has built sites and catalogues since for shops, museums and small trusts.

Most projects have two to four people on the client side. That is deliberate: small teams get decisions made in a week, and I keep the number of people who touch a file to one.

I still set type by hand for posters, and I still proof every printed piece on paper before it goes to press.

The stack

Design
Grids and type drawn first on paper, then in a design tool.
Print
Press-ready PDFs from a layout program, colour proofs before every run.
Code
Plain HTML and CSS, TypeScript where a site needs logic, Postgres where it keeps data.
Hosting
Static files where possible, one small server where not, backups every night.
Black grid of blocks with one red circle, the studio mark

How a project runs

  1. A 45-minute brief call, free. You tell me what it has to do and when it has to be live.
  2. A fixed-fee proposal within two working days. The price, the pages or sheets, and the start date.
  3. Two-week sprints. You see every page on a phone and every proof on paper before launch.
