A café for
staying a while.

Two friends, a quiet courtyard and a shared belief that the best part of a day can be a very small thing.

How the door opened

One empty shop.
A very full notebook.

Elin Sunde and Jonas Dalen met working the same coffee counter. They talked about a lighter room, bread baked on site and a table big enough for old friends. When the shop in Birch Yard became empty, they picked up the keys.

Oat is that notebook, made real. With a few more crumbs.

Four pairs of hands

Made by people.
For people.

Co-founder · the coffee

Elin Sunde

Elin keeps the coffee dialled in and the front room feeling like a friend’s kitchen. Her usual: a filter and the corner of a cardamom knot.

Co-founder · the room

Jonas Dalen

Jonas built the birch benches and knows most of the dogs by name. He wanted a café where a second cup felt like a perfectly good plan.

Our roaster · Pinefold

Mara Doyle

Mara roasts our house coffee at Pinefold, just outside Lindby. She chooses a gentle, chocolate-led blend that works beautifully with milk.

Our baker · the early shift

Kit Holm

Kit starts before the courtyard wakes. Rye loaves, hand-twisted knots and a tray of berry buns; simple things with plenty of care.

A short supply line

Good beans.
Good bread.
No mystery.

Pinefold brings the coffee. Kit makes the bread here. Our milk comes from Birchmere Dairy, and our seasonal vegetables from Fernacre Growers. Ask us about what’s in your cup or on your plate. We like that conversation.

Small things. A lot of care.

A pause, together

Come and say hello.

The kettle’s on. The front room is yours to settle into.
