The useful art of waiting

Not all empty time needs filling.

Waiting for a bus, for bread to rise, for the right word. Most of my week, if I am honest, is spent waiting for something.

I used to fill those minutes with my phone. Lately I have been trying to leave them empty, to see what turns up. Usually it is nothing. Sometimes it is the sentence I had been looking for all morning.

The dough does not need watching. It rises anyway. I think some ideas are the same.
