Light,
held.
Things that disappear.
A place for them to stay.

I photograph the space
between something
and nothing.
A curtain moving. A prism on the floor. The last ten minutes before the room turns blue. My work begins with small observations and stays with them long after most people would have looked away.
Made with glass, found light and slow exposures. No two moments quite the same.
Given time.
The work is a record of what light does when given time.

Nothing moved.
Everything
changed.
For eighteen mornings I made the same photograph. The glass stayed in place. The camera stayed in place. The light refused to repeat itself.
An ongoing study of a very ordinary window.
Out of the dark.
Into your room.
Small editions on cotton rag paper. Printed in the studio, checked in daylight and signed by hand. A quiet object with a long life.
A room.
A lens.
A possibility.
I’m Noor, a photographic artist working from a small studio above an old bookbinder’s in Northmere.
Since 2019, I’ve been making images from the simplest materials: a sheet of glass, a borrowed mirror, the light already in the room.

New light studies and three small editions.
An exhibition at the studio.
