Privacy notice
Template: fill in every highlighted blank before members use this site. This is a starting point, not legal advice.
Who is responsible
The Lamplight Readers, 27 Vellum Row, Hartcombe QU3 9GJ, run by its host Maud Inglethorpe-Sale, decides how your information is used (the controller). Page Lemon hosts this site, runs the sign-in and stores members' details for us as our processor.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in. We send nothing else unless you ask for it.
- Your first name, so the host knows who is checking in.
- Your replies for each meeting, your vote for the next book and the reason you gave, and your notes for the meeting: rating, thoughts and favourite line, with the host's status and reply on each note.
- The meetings you checked in to at the door (the date, and who scanned your code), to count meetings toward the club's free paperback.
- Sign-in records (when and from which browser), to keep your account safe.
Why
To run the club: to invite members, to count the votes, to plan each meeting, to read your notes out in the room and to count meetings attended ([legal basis, for example: our legitimate interest in running a small membership club, or your consent]).
Who sees it
You see only your own replies, votes and notes. Maud sees every member's replies, votes, notes and check-ins, and whoever scans codes at the door sees your first name and your count. She may read a note out at a meeting, without your email address. [Anyone else who sees them, or write: nobody else].
How long we keep it
[For example: members' details and notes for as long as you are a member]. When you leave, your votes, replies and notes are deleted, except records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@lamplightreaders.example.com. You can also complain to [your data protection authority, for example the ICO in the UK].
