The story

Bruno Castellucci learned to cook Sunday lunch in his grandmother’s kitchen, with a pot of ragù on the back ring from first light. He cooked in Bologna and Rome before he came home to run a room of his own.

He opened Lucciola with Agnese Castellucci, who runs the front of house. Agnese knows most regulars by their first names and will tell you what came in from the market that morning.

Lucciola means firefly. The window glows over the close in the evening, and so does the room.
