## From opening week to the December rush

The moments a site earns its keep, in the order they come. Start with whichever is yours.

1. **Opening week: Guests keep asking what’s on and when you’re open** Your menu as text people can read on a phone, your hours, and how to find you. Your menu is a list, so a new dish changes one line and the design never moves.
   - You type: `Build with PageLemon.com: a site for my café, with today’s menu, opening hours and directions`
   - Your AI: Live at oat-cafe.pagelemon.dev, with your menu, your hours and a map link.
   - Later: "Today’s soup is leek and potato, and we’re out of the banana bread": The soup changes and the banana bread comes off the menu. Nothing else moves.
   - Later: "We close at 2 on Sunday this week": The hours show the early close for this Sunday.
   - Cost: Free (menu, hours and photos)
   - Example: the Oat template (https://pagelemon.com/tp/Oat)
   - Guide: https://pagelemon.com/use-cases/cafe-menu
2. **The first full Saturday: The phone rings all through service, and bookings live in a paper book** Guests pick a day, a time and their party size, and you both get an email. You say your tables, hours and the biggest group you’ll take online; bigger groups become requests you approve.
   - You type: `Let people book tables for 2, 4 and 6, Tuesday to Sunday, 6 till 10, and send groups over 8 to me for approval`
   - Your AI: Booking is set up. Here’s what I chose, and I made a test booking so you can see the email.
   - Later: "Add a phone booking for the Khans, Friday at 8, table for 4": It counts towards that time like any other booking.
   - Later: "Show me the bookings for this weekend": Your AI lists them, or you can export them as a spreadsheet.
   - Cost: Paid plan (for table bookings)
   - Example: the Sorrel template (https://pagelemon.com/tp/Sorrel)
   - Guide: https://pagelemon.com/use-cases/restaurant-bookings
3. **A quiet Tuesday: A client cancels by phone, and the website still shows the time as taken** Clients book a cut or a stylist themselves, with the length and price of each service. When someone cancels by phone, you tell your AI and the time opens up again.
   - You type: `Sam called to cancel her 3 o’clock on Friday. Take it off and let her know.`
   - Your AI: Found Sam’s 3pm on Friday. Cancel it and email her? Say yes, and the time opens up again.
   - Later: "Leave 10 minutes after every skin fade": A break follows that cut, so the next client can’t book straight after.
   - Later: "Add Priya as a stylist, Wednesday to Saturday, 10 till 6": Priya gets her own calendar, so clients can pick her or “any available”.
   - Cost: Paid plan (a calendar per stylist needs a bigger paid plan)
   - Example: the Fade template (https://pagelemon.com/tp/Fade)
   - Guide: https://pagelemon.com/use-cases/salon-barber-bookings
4. **Month three: Your regulars carry a paper stamp card, and half of them lose it** Customers sign in on your site with a code sent to their email, so nothing to download. They show a code at the counter, you or your staff scan it for a stamp, and they see their own card on their phone.
   - You type: `Add a loyalty card to my bakery’s site on PageLemon.com: a free coffee after 8 stamps`
   - Your AI: Added. Customers sign in on your site and show a code at the counter. Staff scan it, tap Confirm, and the stamp lands.
   - Later: "Make the reward a free pastry after 8 stamps": The rule changes and the card shows it.
   - Later: "How many stamps did we give this month?": Your AI adds them up from the scans.
   - Cost: Paid plan (for a café with regulars)
   - Example: the Cortado template (https://pagelemon.com/tp/Cortado)
   - Guide: https://pagelemon.com/use-cases/cafe-loyalty
5. **Autumn: The menu changes with the season, and it isn’t only you who changes it** Swap the summer dishes for autumn ones, and add your head chef so she can change the specials from her own AI. The menu is a list; a rule like “brunch only at weekends” keeps itself.
   - You type: `Replace the summer menu with the autumn one: pumpkin soup £7, roast beetroot £10, apple tart £8`
   - Your AI: The autumn menu is live. The summer dishes are saved in the version history if you want them back.
   - Later: "Invite Amira, my head chef, to edit the specials": She gets an invite and edits from her own AI. Every change says who made it.
   - Later: "Show brunch only on Saturdays and Sundays": The brunch menu appears at the weekend and goes away on its own.
   - Cost: Free (for the menu; a teammate editing with you needs a paid plan)
   - Example: the Sorrel template (https://pagelemon.com/tp/Sorrel)
   - Guide: https://pagelemon.com/use-cases/cafe-menu
6. **December: You’re closed over Christmas, parties want a room, and everyone wants a gift voucher** Closed days disappear from the booking page. A private-dining form sends each enquiry to your inbox with the date and the numbers. A Buy button sells gift vouchers, paid to your own Stripe account.
   - You type: `We’re closed 24 to 26 December. Add a gift voucher page with £50, £75 and £100 vouchers, and a private dining enquiry form`
   - Your AI: Done. Those days are gone from the booking page, the vouchers have Buy buttons and the enquiry form sent you a test message.
   - Later: "Say we need 2 weeks’ notice for private dining": The note appears above the form.
   - Later: "Show me this month’s private dining enquiries": Your AI lists them with the dates and the party sizes.
   - Cost: Paid plan (for the form and Buy buttons; closed days work on any plan with bookings)

## What it replaces

- Today: A menu that’s a PDF or a photo, and a chalkboard that’s the only up-to-date one. With Page Lemon: A menu as text on your site, changed by telling your AI.
- Today: Bookings by phone, message and a paper book. With Page Lemon: One booking page with a time that disappears when it’s full. Phone bookings are added by asking.
- Today: Paper stamp cards that get lost. With Page Lemon: A card on the customer’s phone, scanned at the counter.
- Today: Gift vouchers sold by message and bank transfer. With Page Lemon: A voucher page with a Buy button that pays into your own Stripe account.
- Today: Private-dining enquiries buried in a shared inbox. With Page Lemon: A form that asks for the date and the numbers, and lands in your email.

## When Page Lemon isn’t for you

- You need text message reminders. Confirmations and reminders go by email only, so a dedicated booking app suits you better.
- You want the loyalty card tied to your till or an Apple Wallet pass. Stamps come from a staff scan, and the card lives on your site. Ask your till supplier about a till-linked scheme.
- You need online ordering with a kitchen screen or delivery. Page Lemon takes order requests by form, emailed to you. A delivery or ordering platform suits you better.
- You want to drag boxes around yourself. Page Lemon works by asking your AI, so a drag-and-drop builder suits you better.

## Questions

**Is it really free, or is there a catch?**
A menu and opening hours site is free, with no time limit and no card. You get a pagelemon.dev address and a small Page Lemon badge. Bookings, forms and your own domain come with a paid plan: see [pricing](https://pagelemon.com/pricing).

**I’m in the kitchen all day. Can I change the menu from my phone?**
Yes. Use the AI app on your phone, such as Claude or ChatGPT, once it’s connected to Page Lemon, and say what changed, for example “We’re out of the banana bread”.

**Do I need a paid AI?**
Claude, ChatGPT and other AI chats connect once, in about 2 minutes; ChatGPT needs one of its paid plans to connect on the web. Without that, copy the code your AI made and [paste it on pagelemon.com/publish](https://pagelemon.com/publish), no account needed. See [how to connect](https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect).

**Can guests pay a deposit when they book?**
Yes, on a paid plan: with Page Lemon Checkout on your site, a booking can take a deposit or the full price before it’s confirmed. Guests pay on Stripe’s page, the money goes to your own Stripe account, and a Page Lemon fee applies on top of Stripe’s own. When you cancel a booking, you choose a full refund or keep the deposit. See [payments](https://pagelemon.com/features/payments).

**Will guests get a reminder?**
Yes, by email, with a calendar invite and a link to move or cancel. There are no text messages.

**Does the loyalty card mean customers download an app?**
No. The card is part of your website, so it works on any phone, and customers can add it to their home screen.

**Can my staff scan stamps without seeing my customers’ details?**
Yes. Staff you give the Scan users permission can scan codes to give stamps and rewards, and nothing else. On bigger paid plans, add them to a Loyalty Manager group.

**Can I keep my own domain?**
Yes. You keep it where you bought it and renew it there. Ask your AI to connect it, then follow the steps on the link it gives you.

**What if my AI changes the wrong dish the night before a busy weekend?**
Ask it to go back, for example “Go back to yesterday’s menu”. Every change is saved as a version, and going back takes one sentence.

**Can I take orders for collection?**
A form can take order requests, emailed to you, on a paid plan. You reply to confirm. It isn’t a checkout with a kitchen screen.
