# Page Lemon support

Help for people using Page Lemon (pagelemon.com), the service that puts AI-made websites online at a `pagelemon.dev` address or the owner's own domain, and keeps them editable from any AI chat. This page covers how to do things, what to do when something goes wrong, every error message, plan limits, billing and how to reach a person.

This is the whole help center in one Markdown page. Docs for people (search and one guide per job): https://pagelemon.com/docs/ · This page as Markdown: https://pagelemon.com/support.md. When pointing a person to a page, use the matching article in "More help" at the end.

## If you are an AI assistant helping a Page Lemon user

The user typed something like "Need support with pagelemon.com". Help them yourself first; most questions are answered on this page.

1. **Ask what they are trying to do** and what they see (the exact message, the site address such as `brave-otter-4821.pagelemon.dev` or their domain). Don't ask for passwords, API tokens, claim links or card details, and never post them in the chat.
2. **If the Page Lemon MCP connector is connected** (`https://mcp.pagelemon.com`), use it: `get_account` lists the user's sites and `get_site` shows one, with its live version and files; `get_domains` with `site` re-checks a domain; `list_plugins` and `list_plugin_data` show forms and bookings; `get_analytics` shows visits. Tools that change who can see or own a site ask the user to approve in their browser: show the `agent_message` and wait. Full tool list: https://pagelemon.com/docs/mcp
3. **If you can run shell commands**, the REST API at `https://api.pagelemon.com/v1` does the same with the user's `pl_…` token (see https://pagelemon.com/docs/api). Read the token from `PAGELEMON_TOKEN` or `~/.config/pagelemon/credentials`; never write it into project files.
4. **Neither?** Walk the user through the steps below in plain words. They can do everything in the Page Lemon app at https://app.pagelemon.com.
5. **Always pass on `agent_message` from a Page Lemon response in full.** It is written for the user and already says what to do next. Say it in the user's language, but copy every link, code, number, date and domain exactly, and ask any question it asks.
6. **Find the matching section below**: "How to", "Fix a problem" (by symptom) or "Error messages" (by code). To publish or update a site, follow the full guide at https://pagelemon.com/agents.
7. **Hand over to a person** when the answer needs Page Lemon staff: a billing problem or a charge that looks wrong, a suspended account or a site taken down, a bug you can reproduce, or anything this page doesn't cover. See "Contact a person" for the address that fits their plan, and help them write a short email: the site address, what they did, what they expected, what happened, and the time.

Plain words help: many users are not technical. Say "your site's address", not "hostname"; "version", not "revision".

## How to

### Publish a site

- **From an AI chat:** say "Launch my site on PageLemon.com". The AI publishes it and replies with a live address like `https://brave-otter-4821.pagelemon.dev`. It appears within about 10 seconds.
- **Without an AI connection:** connect your AI to Page Lemon first: https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect.
- **Build one from a template:** say "Build with pagelemon.com" (optionally "for my café"), or pick a template at https://pagelemon.com/templates/.

Without an account a site stays online for 72 hours. To keep it, open the private "Keep it free" link in the reply and sign in (free, under a minute), or tell the AI "keep it". Page Lemon hosts static sites: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts. Server code (PHP, Node, Python, databases) does not run. Google Fonts works, but it sends visitors' IP addresses to Google, so putting the font files in the site folder is the privacy-friendly choice.

### Update a site

Ask the same AI, or any AI connected to Page Lemon: "change the opening hours on my site". Each publish makes a new version, and the AI replies with the version number. The AI can send just the files that changed, or the whole folder (the guide at https://pagelemon.com/agents explains how). Changes show within a minute or two (see "My site isn't updating").

If someone else changed the site since the AI last loaded it, nothing is published and the AI asks whether to merge. Say yes: it loads their version, adds your change on top and publishes again.

### Roll back to an earlier version

Ask your AI: "roll back my site to version 3" or "undo the last change". Or in the app: open the site → **Versions** → **Roll back to this version**. Nothing is deleted; newer versions stay saved. How far back you can go depends on your plan (see "Plan limits").

### Connect your own domain

Needs a paid plan and a domain you buy yourself from a registrar (Page Lemon doesn't sell domains). Full guide: https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect-domain

1. **Get a domain.** Ask your AI "find me a domain for my café", or buy one at a registrar such as Porkbun or Namecheap. You renew it with them each year.
2. **Add it to your site.** Use `www` in front (`www.example.com`). Names with accents, like `café.fr`, work too. Ask your AI "connect www.example.com to my site", or in the app open the site → **Domains** → **Add domain**.
3. **Click Connect.** Open the link your AI gives you, sign in at your domain company and click **Connect**. Some domain companies don't support one-click connect yet; then add the records you were given in your registrar's DNS settings, usually:

   | Type | Name | Value |
   |---|---|---|
   | `CNAME` | `www` | `customers.pagelemon.dev` |
   | `TXT` | `_pagelemon.www` | `pl-verify-…` (your own code) |

Add any extra records you were given the same way. Leave `MX` records alone: they deliver your email.
4. **Wait for Live.** Ask your AI "is my domain working yet?", or click **Check now** on the **Domains** page. Usually minutes, sometimes a few hours. The `pagelemon.dev` address keeps working meanwhile.

Where the DNS settings are:

| Registrar | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Porkbun | Domain Management → **DNS** next to the domain |
| Namecheap | Domain List → **Manage** → **Advanced DNS** |
| GoDaddy | My Products → the domain → **DNS** |
| Cloudflare | The domain → **DNS** → **Records** |
| Others | Look for "DNS", "DNS records", "Manage DNS" or "Advanced DNS" on the domain |

- **Name box:** most registrars add your domain to the end, so type just `www` and `_pagelemon.www`. If the name ends up doubled (`www.example.com.example.com`), that's why.
- **The address without www:** most registrars can't point the bare domain at a website. Connect `www`, then turn on forwarding (or "redirect") at the registrar from `example.com` to `https://www.example.com`. If your DNS host supports `ALIAS`, `ANAME` or CNAME flattening (Cloudflare does), you can connect the bare domain with the name `@`.
- **Someone else runs your DNS?** Send them the share link from your AI or from **Someone else runs your DNS?** on the **Domains** page. They don't need your password.

### Protect a site (password or members-only)

- **Password (Free and paid plans, claimed sites):** ask your AI "put a password on my site". Visitors enter it once and stay unlocked in that browser for 30 days. Page Lemon can't show the password again. Removing a password needs your approval in the browser.
- **Members-only (Prompter and up):** only the people you list can open the site, after signing in with a code sent to their email. Add people by email or a whole company domain (like `acme.com`; free email providers such as gmail.com can't be added as a domain). Ask your AI "make my site members-only and let in priya@example.com", or open the site → **People** → members-only. Members-only replaces a site password, so remove the password first. Visitors count once per person across all your sites.
- **Lock only some pages (Builder and up):** keep the rest of the site public and protect a section such as `/students` with its own passcode or its own list of emails. Ask your AI "lock the /students pages with a passcode". Up to 20 locked sections per site.

### Invite people to edit or view

Ask your AI "invite sam@example.com as an editor", or open the site → **People** → **Invite someone**. You approve the invite in your browser. They get an email from hello@pagelemon.com and accept by signing in with that same email address.

- **Owner:** invites, renames, archives, deletes and transfers.
- **Editor:** publishes and rolls back, from their own AI too.
- **Viewer:** sees the site and its history.
- **Visitor:** can only open a members-only site.

How many people can edit (owner included) depends on the owner's plan: Free 1, Prompter 3, Builder 5, Team 10, Company 25. Invites someone hasn't accepted yet count. Team and Company are shared workspaces: everyone in the workspace edits every workspace site with their own account.

### Forms

Any paid plan. Ask your AI "add a contact form to my site". It adds the form, publishes, and sends one test message. Messages are emailed to you and kept in the app (the site's **Messages** tab). Download them as CSV there (**Export CSV**). To send messages to another address too, ask your AI to add an inbox: you approve it, then that address confirms by email. Choose how alerts arrive (as they come, once a day, or off) on **Notifications** in the app. Forms never collect passwords, card or bank numbers, or ID documents.

### Bookings

Business plans only (Team, Company and Enterprise). Ask your AI "add bookings to my site" and tell it your services, durations and opening hours (or tables and party sizes for a restaurant). Customers get a confirmation email and up to 2 reminders. You can ask your AI to approve, decline, cancel, reschedule, add phone or walk-in bookings, set up staff or rooms, add holidays, or give you a calendar feed for your phone. Each booked date counts towards your plan's monthly bookings.

### Analytics

Visitor numbers are built in on every claimed site, with no trackers or cookie banner. Ask your AI "how many visitors did my site get this week?", or open the site → **Analytics**. How far back you can see depends on your plan (Free 7 days, Prompter 90 days, Builder and Team 1 year, Company 2 years).

### Transfer a site to someone else

For example, handing a client their finished site. Needs a paid plan, and the new owner accepts with a paid plan of their own. Ask your AI "transfer my site to client@example.com", or open the site → **People** → **Transfer ownership**. You approve it; the new owner gets an email and accepts by signing in with that address. Until they accept you can cancel it ("cancel the transfer"). An archived site has to be unarchived first. You can also move a site into a Team or Company workspace the same way.

### Rename a site

Ask your AI "rename my site to maisoncafe", or open the site → **Settings**. Names are up to 63 characters of a–z, 0–9 and single hyphens, with at least 8 letters or digits on Free and 5 on paid plans. Up to 3 renames a day per site. You can switch back to the old name within 7 days. The old address stops working, so update any links you shared.

### Archive a site

Archiving takes a site offline without deleting it and frees a live-site slot: files and versions are kept, and visitors see "This site is archived". Ask your AI "archive my site" or use **Settings**. Archive slots: Free 1, Prompter 5, Builder and up unlimited. To bring it back: "unarchive my site" (needs a free live-site slot).

### Download, export and delete your data

- **Download a site:** site → **Settings** → **Download .zip** gives every file of the live version, ready to publish anywhere.
- **Export form messages or bookings:** the site's **Messages** or **Bookings** tab → export, or ask your AI for an export link. Erasing plugin data is done in the app.
- **Delete a site:** ask your AI "delete my site" (it asks you to confirm), or site → **Settings** → **Delete site**. The site goes offline and every version is deleted. This can't be undone, and the address can't be used again. A deleted site still counts towards your live sites for 30 days, and its storage is freed 7 days later.
- **Delete your account:** in the app, **Account settings** → **Profile** → **Delete account**, and type your account email to confirm. This deletes your sites, plugin data and AI connections, cancels your plan at once, and removes you from sites you were invited to. Download anything you want to keep first.
- **Privacy requests** (a copy of your data, corrections): support@pagelemon.com. Privacy policy: https://pagelemon.com/privacy

### Connect your AI app

Add the Page Lemon connector (`https://mcp.pagelemon.com`) to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or another AI app, and sign in when asked. In ChatGPT (a paid ChatGPT plan) it's a plugin: open **Plugins** → **Add**, add a custom MCP server with the URL `https://mcp.pagelemon.com/account`, then sign in to Page Lemon; if ChatGPT asks you to turn on Developer mode, do so in Settings. Steps per app: https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect. You can see and disconnect AI connections in the app under **Account settings** → **API tokens**.

## Fix a problem

### My domain isn't working

- **Still "pending" after a few hours:** check each record's name and value letter by letter against the **Domains** page. Look for a second `www` record (often a "parking" page) and delete it: two records with the same name block each other.
- **The registrar won't accept a CNAME:** you're probably adding it on the bare domain. Use `www` (see "Connect your own domain").
- **The name ended up doubled:** type just `www` and `_pagelemon.www` in the name box.
- **The bare domain (without www) doesn't open the site:** set up forwarding at your registrar to `https://www.yourdomain`.
- **"That domain is being connected to another Page Lemon site":** it's added somewhere else, maybe another of your sites. Remove it there first.
- **"You've used all your domains":** remove one you don't use, or move to a bigger plan.
- **Email stopped arriving:** an `MX` record was changed or removed. Put it back as your email provider says.
- **Recently bought the domain?** New domains and DNS changes can take a few hours to reach everyone.

### The padlock (SSL / https) is pending

Page Lemon sets up the https certificate for you once the records are found; you don't buy or upload one. It normally follows within minutes of the domain being found. If it stays pending: make sure every record from the **Domains** page is in (some domains need one or two extra records for the certificate), remove any old `CAA` record that only allows another certificate company, then click **Check now**. Your `pagelemon.dev` address keeps working with https meanwhile.

### My site isn't updating

- **Wait a minute or two.** Pages are cached for about a minute, so a change can take 1–2 minutes to show everywhere. Then reload; on a phone, close and reopen the tab.
- **Check the version.** The AI's reply says which version is live. Site → **Versions** in the app shows it too. If the reply was an error, nothing changed.
- **Files missing after an update?** A full publish replaces the whole site, so any file the AI leaves out is gone. Ask it to load the live files first, then send only the changes (a patch) or the complete folder.
- **On your own domain but not on pagelemon.dev (or the other way round)?** Wait a minute and reload: both show the same version.
- **The site says it's frozen:** see "Over a limit".

### Form emails aren't arriving

- **Check spam** and any email filters for messages about your site.
- **Look in the app:** the site's **Messages** tab. If the messages are there, the form works and the problem is email delivery.
- **Daily email alerts:** each plan emails up to a set number of alerts a day, all inboxes together (Prompter 20, Builder 50, Team 100, Company 200). The rest come in one summary email the next morning, and every saved message is in the app.
- **Once a day or Off:** check **Notifications** in the app; a stream set to once a day only arrives in the morning summary.
- **Extra inboxes** only get alerts after they click the confirmation email, and only for what is ticked for them.
- **Monthly allowance used up:** see "Plan limits".
- **No messages in the app at all:** ask your AI to check the form markup is still on the page and send a test. If the site sets a Content-Security-Policy, it must allow `https://plugins.pagelemon.dev`.
- **"Paused by Page Lemon":** email support@pagelemon.com.

### I can't sign in

- **Sign-in doesn't load:** check your connection, turn off ad or script blockers for app.pagelemon.com, then reload.
- **Wrong account:** sign in with Google or with the email address you used before. An invite, transfer or approval link only works for the email it was sent to: sign out, then sign in with that address.
- **"Your session has expired":** sign in again.
- **Lost the "Keep it free" link** for a site you published without an account: it's in the AI's original reply. If it's gone and the 72 hours haven't passed, ask the AI that published it, which can open a new one. After 72 hours the site is offline; publish the files again.
- **Your AI says its token expired or was revoked:** re-add the connector and sign in, or create a new token at https://app.pagelemon.com/account/tokens (**Account settings** → **API tokens**).
- **"This account is suspended":** email support@pagelemon.com.

### I'm over a limit

- **Too many sites:** archive or delete a site, or upgrade. Deleted sites count for 30 days.
- **The site is too large:** large images and videos are the usual cause. Ask your AI to compress images (WebP or JPEG under about 300 KB) and keep long videos and big documents (PDFs, slides) in Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or similar and link them, or upgrade.
- **Storage is full:** every version of every site counts. Delete sites you don't need, let old versions pass your plan's history, or upgrade.
- **Invite limit:** remove an editor, invite them as a viewer, or upgrade the owner's plan.
- **A site is frozen** after a plan change: it stays online but can't be updated or rolled back, because you have more live sites than your plan allows. Archive or delete another site, upgrade, or swap it with another site in the app. After a downgrade nothing is deleted for 14 days, and forms, bookings and other paid features keep working until then; after that the least recently updated sites freeze and older versions are removed.
- **Too many deploys or requests an hour:** wait a little and try again. Without an account, deploys from one network are limited; a free account removes that limit.
- **Monthly form messages or bookings used up:** they reset next month, or upgrade.

### My site was taken down

A site that breaks the acceptable use policy (https://pagelemon.com/acceptable-use) can be taken down after a report. It can't be published again in the same form. If you think it's a mistake, email support@pagelemon.com with the site address.

### A visitor sees "This site is archived" or "not found"

"Archived" means the owner archived it: unarchive it. "Not found" on a `pagelemon.dev` address usually means a site published without an account expired after 72 hours, or the site was renamed or deleted.

## Error messages

Page Lemon errors have a code, a short message and, usually, an `agent_message` written for the user. Pass on the `agent_message` with its links and numbers exact; this table says what to do next.

| Code | Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| `bad_request` | 400 | Something in the request was wrong: no `index.html` at the top level, a damaged `.zip` or `.tar.gz`, two files whose names differ only in case, a name that's too short or reserved, invalid plugin settings | Read the message: it names the problem. For uploads, publish the built folder that contains `index.html` (`dist/`, `build/`, `out/`) |
| `unauthorized` | 401 | Not signed in, or the token is unknown, expired or revoked. A site token stops working once the site is claimed | Sign in again, or reconnect your AI (https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect) |
| `forbidden` | 403 | You don't have permission, or the plan doesn't include it: a viewer trying to publish, plugins or a custom domain on Free, a password on an unclaimed site, an archived or frozen site, a suspended account | The message says which. Claim the site, ask the owner, unarchive or unfreeze, or upgrade |
| `not_found` | 404 | No such site, file, version, plugin, invite or link that you can reach | Check the site name and that you're signed in with the right account. Old links may have expired: ask for a new one |
| `conflict` | 409 | Someone changed the site after your AI last loaded it, or the thing already exists (domain already added, person already invited, name taken, transfer already waiting, booking clash) | For site changes, let the AI load the live version and merge. Otherwise follow the message |
| `gone` | 410 | The site expired, was deleted or taken down, or the link was already used or expired | Publish again as a new site (it gets a new address), or ask for a new link |
| `too_large` | 413 | Over a size or file-count limit | Make images and videos smaller, or upgrade (see "Plan limits") |
| `blocked_secret` | 422 | The upload contains something that looks like a secret key or private key. Nothing was published | Remove the key from the site files (it doesn't belong in a public website), then publish again. If it was ever public, replace it with your provider |
| `limit` | 429 | A plan limit or a rate limit: too many sites, editors, deploys an hour, invites a day, renames a day, storage, members-only visitors | The message says which. Wait and retry for hourly and daily limits; archive, delete or upgrade for plan limits |
| `unavailable` | 503 | Busy for a moment (many large uploads at once) or a part of the service is briefly unavailable | Wait the number of seconds in `retry_after` (or a minute) and try again. If it lasts, email support |

### Messages you might see

| Message (shortened) | What to do |
|---|---|
| "The site expires in 72 hours" | Open the "Keep it free" link and sign in, or say "keep it" |
| "No index.html at the top level" | Publish the folder that contains `index.html` |
| "The upload is larger than … MB" / "The site is … MB; the limit is …" | Make images and videos smaller, sign up free (5 MB) or upgrade (a paid site can use all of its plan's storage; one upload carries up to 90 MB, so a bigger site goes up in parts) |
| "… appears to contain a secret key" | Remove the key from the site files and publish again |
| "Someone changed the site … after I last loaded it" | Say yes to merging |
| "The version I started from isn't one this site knows" | Let the AI load the live version and publish again |
| "This site has been claimed, so its site token no longer works" | Connect your AI to your account (https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect) |
| "This API token expired" / "Unknown or revoked API token" | Connect your AI again (https://pagelemon.com/docs/connect), or create a new token |
| "You need to approve it … Open this link" | Open the link, check it, click **Approve**, then tell your AI |
| "This approval link was already used or has expired" | Ask your AI to try again for a new link |
| "Plugins need a paid plan" / "Custom domains need an account" | Claim the site, then upgrade |
| "You have … live sites; the … plan allows …" | Archive or delete a site, or upgrade |
| "This account stores …; the … plan allows …" | Delete old sites, or upgrade for more storage |
| "… is frozen: the account has more live sites than its plan allows" | Archive or delete another site, upgrade, or swap it in |
| "… is archived. Unarchive it first" | Unarchive the site, then publish |
| "… expired" | Publish the files again as a new site |
| "too many free deploys from this network" | Wait, or sign in to publish without that limit |
| "Page Lemon is taking a lot of deploys without an account" | Try later, or sign up free |
| "busy with other large uploads" | Wait the seconds given and try again |
| "That name is taken or was used before" / "That name is reserved" | Choose another name |
| "On this plan a chosen name needs at least 8 letters or digits" | Use a longer name, or upgrade (5 on paid plans) |
| "… renames in the last 24 hours" | Try again tomorrow |
| "… invites in the last 24 hours" | Try again tomorrow |
| "the … plan allows … people who can edit this site" | Remove an editor, invite them as a viewer, or upgrade |
| "This invite was sent to … Sign in with that email" | Sign out and sign in with the invited address |
| "This site has a password. Remove it first: members-only replaces it" | Remove the password, then turn members-only on |
| "Members-only sites need a paid plan" | Upgrade, or use a site password instead |
| "Transferring a site needs a paid plan" | Upgrade to Prompter or higher |
| "… already has a transfer waiting" | Cancel the waiting transfer first |
| "Version … is older than this plan's history" | Pick a newer version, or upgrade for longer history |
| "Forms never collect passwords" / "looks like a card, bank, password or ID-document field" | Remove that field |
| "… clashes with another booking" | Pick another time, or ask your AI to skip clashing dates |
| "… is paused by Page Lemon" / "This account is suspended" | Email support@pagelemon.com |
| "… has been taken down because it was reported" | Email support@pagelemon.com if you think it's a mistake |

## Plan limits

Every paid plan has forms, members-only pages and visit counts; booking comes with Business plans (Team and Company). Plans otherwise differ only in how much. Limits on people and plugins follow the site owner's plan.

## Billing

- **Upgrade, change plan or cancel** in the app: **Plan and billing** → **Manage billing**. There you can also change your card and download invoices.
- **Cancel any time.** After the first 14 days (see the refund below), you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. When a plan ends your sites stay online: you have 14 days, then paid features such as your own domain stop, sites over the Free limits freeze (they stay online but can't be updated) and versions older than 7 days are removed.
- **14-day free trial, no card needed.** Press Try free for 14 days on Prompter or Builder at https://pagelemon.com/pricing, or, on Free, ask your AI for something only a paid personal plan has (like a custom domain). Your AI tells you which plan covers it and asks before it starts the trial; some AI apps send you to the pricing page instead. One free trial per account, email address and card. Until you add a card, a trial includes up to 500 MB of storage. If you don't add a card by the end, the account goes back to Free. Team and Company have no free trial.
- **14-day refund on your first payment.** If you cancel, or move to a cheaper plan, within 14 days of your first payment, it is refunded in full automatically (once per account and once per card); you don't need to email anyone. A yearly plan cancelled within 14 days of its renewal is refunded in full too. A cancel then moves you to Free at once. The refund reaches your card within 5 to 10 days.
- **Deleting your account** cancels your plan at once.
- **Charged and it looks wrong?** Email support@pagelemon.com with your account email and the date of the charge.
- **Tax:** US dollar prices exclude tax (VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies); pound (UK) prices are the full price, and no VAT is added; euro (EU) prices include VAT. Terms: https://pagelemon.com/terms
