# Internal tools for your team

An internal tool is a private site where your team keeps its records, built by your AI on your own domain. Only people in your workspace sign in.

It is made of three things:

- **Team lists:** the records your team keeps, such as deals, candidates or projects, in [Lists](/docs/lists).
- **Team sign-in:** people in your workspace sign in with the login they use for Page Lemon, through [Sign-in](/docs/sign-in).
- **Rules:** each list says who sees and changes what, so one person sees only their own rows and a field such as salary stays with managers.

Your AI shows the lists, pages and rules in one message first. Nothing is saved until you say yes.

## Five tools to look at first

Each one is a working sample with made-up data. Open it, click around, then ask your AI for the same thing with your details.

- [Quota](/ideas/quota/): a sales pipeline. Demo requests from your website become deals, and your team moves them across a board.
- [Staffroom](/ideas/staffroom/): an employee portal. A directory, time off that managers approve, and documents each person sees only for themselves.
- [Shortlist](/ideas/shortlist/): hiring. Applications become candidates, and interviewers see only their own feedback.
- [Masthead](/ideas/masthead/): a marketing hub. A board and calendar for posts and newsletters, and ideas sent in from outside the team.
- [Workbench](/ideas/workbench/): projects and client work. Tasks, time against each project, and budgets only managers see.

## What to have ready

- A workspace on a paid plan. [See pricing](/pricing). To set one up, see [Workspaces](/docs/workspaces).
- The people who will use the tool, already in your workspace.
- Your current records as a CSV file, if you're moving from a spreadsheet or another tool.

## Good to know

- An internal tool can't also be an app for customers or have a site password: the workspace sign-in replaces both. It stays in its workspace.
- Nothing from an internal tool appears on your public website, in feeds or in search. A form on one of your public sites can add records to it.
- To test it, ask your AI to try the tool on a [staging copy](/docs/staging) as someone in each group.
- When someone leaves your workspace, their access ends at once.
