# Leaving Page Lemon: guide for AI assistants

> For people: https://pagelemon.com/docs/leaving explains this feature in plain words. This page is for AI assistants.

A person can take everything with them whenever they like, at no charge and without asking Page Lemon: download everything, cancel the plan, delete their login and data, or move to another provider. Most of this happens in the Page Lemon app, because their data never passes through an AI chat; your part is to explain it truthfully, point them to the right place, and help with the parts you can do (one site's files, exports, the domain, the "moved" notice). Moving one site: https://pagelemon.com/agents/move-away. Publishing in general: https://pagelemon.com/agents.

Use this when the person says "I want to leave Page Lemon", "Download all my data", "Cancel my plan", "Delete my account", "What happens to my sites if I cancel?", or "I'm switching to another provider".

## Plans and limits

Leaving is free on every plan. When a paid plan ends, Free's limits apply (live sites, site size, version history; no custom domains, forms or bookings): https://pagelemon.com/pricing. `get_account` with `include: ["downgrade"]` says what changes for this person and when.

- A paid plan that ends keeps everything working as before for 14 days (the grace). Page Lemon emails what changes and when, naming the older versions the lower plan removes, at the start and 3 days before the end, so the person can download them first. After the grace, over-limit parts stop (custom domains send visitors to the `pagelemon.dev` address; sites past the live-site limit freeze, oldest-updated first; history is pruned to the plan; existing forms and bookings are kept but take nothing new); nothing else is deleted.
- Cancelling or moving to a cheaper plan within 14 days of the account's first payment is refunded in full automatically. Paying, cancelling and plan changes are in the app, **Plan and billing**, never in a chat: https://pagelemon.com/docs/billing.
- **Download everything** can be asked for 3 times a day per person; its link works for 7 days. A site's own download is at most 10 an hour.
- Workspaces end differently (the Workspace Owner moves the sites they want to a personal plan; the workspace is then frozen and kept for 6 months before it is deleted): see https://pagelemon.com/docs/billing.
- Say plan names, never ids.

## Ask the person

In one message:

1. **What they want:** a copy of their data, cancel the plan and keep the free sites, delete everything, or move to another provider.
2. **Whether anything must stay online:** a site, a domain or a form that customers use.
3. **Where they're going**, if they know. Page Lemon doesn't recommend a company.
4. **When**, and whether they'd like to download first. A deleted account can be restored for 6 days by signing up again with the same email (**Restore my account**); after that it can't be undone.

## What the person needs ready

Nothing but being signed in to the Page Lemon app (**Settings** → **Leaving Page Lemon**). For a workspace they must be its Workspace Owner to cancel it, delete it or move it to another provider. Where a site has a custom domain, the login of the company where the domain's DNS is kept (see https://pagelemon.com/agents/move-away).

## Set it up

Nothing here is set up by an AI. Send the person to the app and tell them which button:

1. **Download everything** (app only; the AI can't do it and the data doesn't go through the chat): **Settings** → **Leaving Page Lemon** → **Download everything**, for their account or for a workspace they're in. Page Lemon emails a link that works for 7 days. The archive holds every site's files (ready to publish at any host), form replies, bookings and orders as CSV and JSON (bookings also as `.ics`), the users of each site, custom domains with their DNS records, and account details; a README lists what is and isn't included. In a workspace they get the sites they can open, and form replies and bookings only where they can read them.
2. **One site or one version:** the site's **Settings** → **Versions** (**Download .zip**, or **Download** beside an older version), or `get_site` with `download: true` for one-hour links. Messages of one form, the bookings, or one of the site's lists: the site's **Lists** tab → the list → **More** → **Export CSV**.
3. **Move a site and its domain:** https://pagelemon.com/agents/move-away. The `pagelemon.dev` address can send visitors on for 90 days (**Settings** → **General** → **This site has moved**).
4. **Cancel the plan:** **Plan and billing** → **Cancel your contract**. Sites stay online on Free. Tell the person what changes for them (`get_account` with `include: ["downgrade"]`; Free's limits are on https://pagelemon.com/pricing) and what the emails will say.
5. **Delete login and data:** **Settings** → **Profile** → **Delete my login and data**, only in the app (an API token or MCP call is refused). It takes their sites offline and deletes them at once, cancels the plan and removes them from sites they were invited to. Page Lemon can't send copies afterwards. For 6 days they can sign up again with the same email and choose **Restore my account** in the app: the account and its sites come back on Free (not the plan, tokens, AI connections or custom domains). A Workspace Owner of a workspace with other people in it must first hand the workspace to someone else; open customer money (orders to settle) must be settled first, and the app lists the steps.
6. **Move to another provider:** **Settings** → **Leaving Page Lemon**, or an email to support@pagelemon.com. Page Lemon starts the switch when they ask (up to 2 months ahead), and the service keeps working for up to 30 days while they move; they can extend that once, to a date up to 7 months ahead. Switching and exports are always free. Their paid plan runs while the service works, then Page Lemon cancels it and refunds the unused part of the current billing period, so they needn't cancel it themselves. After the move their data stays available to download for at least 30 days; then it is deleted and Page Lemon confirms by email. They can ask for deletion sooner. The binding text is in the Terms (https://pagelemon.com/terms#termination, section 10).

## Confirm with the person

Leaving is the person's decision, and some steps can't be undone. Before you send them to a step that ends something, say in plain words what will happen, and wait for their yes:

- **Cancel:** what changes on Free, and when (the 14-day grace and the emails).
- **Delete login and data:** everything goes at once; download first; only a copy on request for 7 days.
- **Switch provider:** the dates (start, end of service, deletion), that billing stops and the refund of the unused part.
- **Deleting a site with `delete_site`:** it returns an `approve_url`; the site stays as it is until the person confirms on that page.

Never press, approve or confirm any of these for them, and never ask for their password.

## Test

1. After the download email: ask them to open the link, save every part and check the README and one site's `index.html`. Tell them the link works for 7 days.
2. Before they delete anything: ask them to confirm they have the copy and, if the site is moving, that the new host shows it.
3. After cancelling: `get_account` with `include: ["billing"]` shows the plan and when it ends; tell the person what you see. After switching: the app shows the request's dates.

## Day to day

- Withdrawing a switch request before the deletion starts is in the app (**Leaving Page Lemon**). Archived sites stay archived until unarchived, and a plan the switch ended stays cancelled (they choose one again under **Plan and billing**).
- A site can be restored from older versions while the site is here: `get_site_versions`, `restore_version`.
- To stay but pay less: https://pagelemon.com/docs/billing.

## What Page Lemon refuses, and the fix

| Refused | Fix to offer |
|---|---|
| Download everything, account deletion or a switch request through an AI or an API token | Do it in the app, signed in: **Settings** → **Leaving Page Lemon** |
| More than 3 account downloads a day, or 10 site downloads an hour (`429`) | Wait for `retry_after` |
| Deleting the account of a Workspace Owner with other people in the workspace | Hand the workspace to someone else first, or delete the workspace |
| Deleting or switching while customers' money is open | Settle the orders as the app lists them, then delete |
| An expired export link (7 days) | Ask for a new one in the app |
| An extension of a switch more than once, or past 7 months | Email support@pagelemon.com for a longer time |
